Rollie, your cabinet is perfect! I like to hide appliances too, so this would be perfect for me. Every morning we take the toaster off the shelf and put it back when we are finished with it. This would make it so much easier. Good job

I like those, too, and considered it when we planned our kitchen. I just didn't have enough space in the corner to work it in. I would have loved to hide the toaster that the kids pull out every day.

Rollie, I just saw this. I'm telling you.... you need to come out to Kalamazoo and redo our kitchen! You can come during hunting season and hunt with DH in the morning, then build in the afternoon! I'll make you ribs... roasts... we have beer. We have coffee. You'll have a quiet room to stay in. Bring your wife! I'm sure we can find stuff to do.
Once DH gets over the shock of this sunroom addition we're doing, I'm going to actively beg/plead/bribe you to come over here.
Did I mention we have a plethora of deer in Michigan? Turkey, too. OH! And steelhead season is in the fall. DH can take you on the Kalamazoo River and land some huge ones.

When you think he is over the shock of the sunroom addition, you know you can always find me on the corner stool at the bahrr.

I love the utensil tray. Anything to get stuff off the counters is good in my book. Where did you get that?
Allison,
Sorry, Ive been gone since Wed of last week, with no access to the web. (For you BAHRR members that know me, yes, I was gone fishing!)
I had the untensil tray custom fabricated for me by a company that builds storage components for race teams. The unit cost me $65.00 for the part that is added to the cabinet. I had 2 built at the time, one with staggered heights, (shown) and on that is just flat.
I have a job that is just completing, that will have two utensil holders in it, one on each side of the range. The customer in the picture, raves about the useability of the utensil rack, which is good, because the idea came to me while down at the Knoxville Nationals when I seen the storage compartments that Pit Pal made. I know from my own personal experience, that rifling thru the utensil drawer is not fun, especialy when it comes time to making everythign lay down flat again so you can close the drawer.
Ill post some pics of the next job when completed.

Alison,
I don't know if this helps or not, but since Rollie said his was a custom job, I thought I would post.
I don't like things out on the counter either, but really dislike utensil drawers. I had mine stored/displayed in a yellow glazed pot (for plants). But I ran across this antique distillery box from England at a local antique store. I cleaned it up with water, then sprayed with an enzyme cleaner I had for the pets.
I like it's because it's divided (to hold 6 bottles) so the utensils "stay," adds character to the kitchen and you seem to focus on the box, not the utensils, when looking that way.
